every time i hear this sort of stuff i can’t help to chuckle. times are shit and we need a glimmer of a dream, to keep us happy. i spoke with these buyers and they said they will spend like city have lmao DREAM on guys

its possible some mug wants buy villa and also possible lerner wants out, but its rare as rocking horse shit, some rich guy wants 2 blow his cash on a football club and want nothing back.

So if we are relegated he won’t sell?even though he’ll be losing loads of revenue.he’s either selling or he ain’t.

Giddy wake up mate, the new investors won’t buy if we are relegated, not that Lerner won’t sell.

If, any of this is true.

when theres nothing of interest 2 talk about. then these story about russian or american lifelong villa trillionaires, wanting to be our sugar daddies

lerner i think will want to take the sky money for a few years to come to recoup his money before he sells us for less than he paid and wasted in costs

I’d say there is more truth in this than you think.

Lerner is at risk of relegating us and being stuck with a white elephant, i’d say he’s looking to get rid now.

so i can’t celebrate or panic on iffs and maybes, commenting on this subject is sorry a waste of time, facts there are none speculations chinese whispers, i think every villa fans realizes lerner wants out. but he hasn’t become a billionaire by walking away from projects with huge losses. he will drive a good price for him or carry on taking the sky money while running us in the ground

Couldn’t care less what you can celebrate or panic on to be honest mate, am just stating an opinion and that is that i can see Lerner looking to get rid.

His 5 year plan didn’t work, he’s only going to have to pump a lot more cash in to even get us to mid-table, makes total sense that he wants to sell, plus if he’s selling at £250m say, which i doubt he’d get, he’d recover most of his losses if not all anyway.

By playing the ‘avoid relegation’ game he is risking losing everything.

iffs, maybes, all speculations ~ lerner sells great, lerner doesn’t too bad. theres 5games coming up. way before anybody takes over anything, or you think somebody would buy a club, without knowing which leagues they are going to be in.

There are no pointless topics on a forum, that’s the point of a forum.

If you are going to insult me at least capitalise, and perhaps use the space bar.

It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we could be sounded out as potential target for a takeover, of course a lot depends on what happens at the end of the season, that is a given.

iam not insulting anybody by expressing my views, which is until the final game has been played, nothing will be released to joe public. further more lerner would hope 2 recoup all or most of his outlaying. which puts villa a dear club outside london, figures would be close to 300 million if he got all his dough back.

if villa do get relegated, lerner wouldn’t a chance in hell, to get his dollars back, even if we stayed up, he would have to take a massive loss to sell us,

Why would they deny it. It suits them for fans to believe it whether true or not it deflects attention away from lamberk and the supporters will be more determined than ever to get behind the team to avoid relegation. People will also rush to buy season tickets as well. The club can then deny at a later date as they can say they were just media rumours.

The part that makes me think this is horseshit is the threat that we have to stay up. If I was buying for a long term investment and the club went down, I’d simply deduct the money lost from tv revenue from the sale price, then aim to rebuild and get back up. It’s not as though we’ve loads of highly paid players anymore…
I think this is a ploy to shut fans up so Lerner can have another Premier league season on the cheap.

I think it’s safe to say we all have our own opinions on this. For me everywhere I’m reading is saying either this american duo will buy the club and give us some serious cash to splash.. or Lambert is gonna get extra cash this summer to buy targets he’s had “his eye on for a while” that cost “a bit more” than what we’ve got over the past few summers. So for me personally it’s a win win 😀 Either we get new billionaire owners or we’re gonna be paying more serious money than what we have of late 😀 now we just need to take our final games one at a time.

You mean the fact City has conquered Australia’s youth market and any youth players who are going there? City won’t loan players to them because Australia’s a bit far and different and they can use European clubs, but they not only saved a club who were rock bottom and terrible and have made them so much better, but they get to use their academy to develop players, give fans something to cheer for.

Belgium is the best place to do it. They have a great young group of Belgians already, will continue to develop them, and they also have a few great young African/South American youth that could be developed in Europe.

MLS is a bit more interesting. The US youth teams are actually pretty good, not great, but good and if they can get 2-3 of them in a said academy, then can only be better.

            But all rumours obviously.

Lerner apparently needed to sell one or the other.
He chose the Browns, which got him nigh on a billion dollars.
A nice fat profit, although I suspect his dad (who made the money in the first place and was the real brains behind the outfit, as Randy has achieved nothing himself) wouldn’t have liked it.
That’s what happens when you’re down to a paltry £3-400 million, I guess.

The article which i cannot post a link to because i cannot suss out the tablet i am working refers to high taxation due to estate tax in the US. Would this mean that the transfer of debt to the Lerner trust was to protect his family from paying massive tax bill on Villa should he die tomorrow. If he was to sell half of Villa the half he sold would be inhis name and not the Lerner trust. No accountant but i would say that was some clever juggling.
