Garde out, Yorke in? perhaps not.

God, you’re lucky.
Not only do you support the finest club in the world, but you get to read my thoughts two days running!

Ok, forget that; I’m just in a daft mood at this stupid time of the day, where I’m about to go to bed.

So I saw this article where Dwight Yorke says “sack Garde and appoint me”.

I thought it was just a re-hash of what he’d said a few months ago, but it seems he’s quoted as mentioning nine games to go, so it might be relevant.

So bearing in mind that it might be a bit of creative journalism and I’d never consider Yorke as a Villa manager just yet, there is a certain point that struck home with me;

“You need more than that, somebody who understands the football club, who gets more out of the players and Remi Garde hasn’t been able to do that. Every interview he’s done, there’s no positiveness coming out of it – at least show some fighting spirit with nine games to go.”

And Yorke does have a point doesn’t he, when you look at it like that?

Garde definitely seems to have been playing things down, although I can’t say I blame him, given our position and the fact that he’s been stitched up.

And yes, Garde has been trying to play things up, to a certain extent, if you want to look at it the other way.
He’s still being quoted as saying we can beat the Swans and stay up on the OS.
But his comments haven’t convinced anyone, have they? And we all know that you have to read underneath to see what he actually means.

This is pretty much a throwaway post, as I don’t think Yorke coming in with an upbeat mood would have changed much.
But perhaps you might think otherwise?
