If We were to put Delph up for sale who would be interested in buying him? I only make this point as when you look at our squad with the exception of Benteke (and Guzan if you beleave the press) i dont think there is a single member of our squad who anyone wanting to finish in the top half of the table would want to buy. This for me shows that if you look past all the “We have a great exciting young squad” rubbish we actually have a squad of players no one else are interested in.and have very little resale value.

Spot on cb a man that has seen the light. Benteke and Guzan would get into most teams, gabby and Delph would get into some the rest of the squad is pants end off

So your sayin Delph isn’t as good a player as what west brom, west ham, fulum, hull, crystal palace, cardif, even everton have? I would have to disagree most our players would get into those teams besides everton but i would rate Delph just as good as James McCarthy, i even saw on a spurs forum that vlar would get into almost any team in the league and nobody seemed to disagree! Strange when other fans support our players more then our SUPPORTERS do themselves! You always go on about what’s wrong with the game well i think fans like you are what’s wrong with the game, always wanting instant success with no forward thinking or even a basic plan just spend spend spend until we no longer exist and you can finally be happy.

Agree with Kerryvillan here. I watched the game on Sunday with 2 Tottenham fans I had never met before. Both raved about Benteke and were desperate to sign him but also thought Vlar, Delph, Wiemann and Bacuna were great players. There are still plenty of gaps that need filling but we have a nucleus of a decent team, I still think we’re lacking in terms of quality from a squad perspective though.

It’s very easy to be magnanimous when u win. Benteke is a no brainier any team would want him though my mate an arsenal fan wouldn’t as dosnt think he’d fit into their style of play and prefers giroud

They weren’t being magnanimous after the event, these comments were made within the first 10 minutes of the game.

Only because they knew they’d win.

If Delph was up for sale you reckon we’d get £13m for him? More like 3.5 to 4 max.

Closer to 7-8m, 10m if he signs the new contract he’s begging for.

I admit vlaar has definitely improved this season and on current form would get into most mid table teams. But let’s not get delusions of grandeur he’s no kompany or vidic ffs

Vidic isn’t near what he used to be. Talk about a down slide.

Kompany and Vidic are and were two of the best defenders to play the game right now, of course he’s not them, we wouldn’t have him still if he was….But we have a very much improved defender who would start at Spurs next to Dawson. Don’t have to be a Kompany or Vidic to do that.

Fair enough but vidic at least was a great centre half for years

World Class, brilliant partnership with Ferdinand for years. Vlaar’s never been or never going to be world class, however he’s a great player still. Again he took a while to get used to it, but he’s come leaps and bounds since last season, looks much more positive, more confident in what he does. Even the Netherlands who’ve tried to turn their entire back 4 from the World Cup till now being all 21 or younger, are having Vlaar start and they weren’t in bad form so it just proves he’s getting better still.

Bacuna is also a great find.Weimann also a good player….Sylla shows signs of promise along with Tonev…Now here’s the thing they just need a little time to adjust to the pace of the PL….UTV….

I think the fact a team like Dortmund actually had scouts at Villa games last season for Weimann would go as far as saying he’d easily get into teams in the PL.

I can’t see why supporters are so down on Lambert after the results, points and goal difference tallys of this season from the games played and who’ve we’ve played I think he’s done ok.Everton have had a great start but are beatable…UTV

            Crapjac makes you sound stupid.

And false. Benteke took a couple months before he hit any kind of form for Villa and put in solid performances.

delph is much improved this season and always give 100% he’s one of those unsung types who work really hard for the team like carrick at united or rosicky at arsenal, you could put gareth barry in that category too every team should have one and usually does.
also being that type of player no he’s not going to be 1st on everyones lips and most fans outside of villa will know his name at most so he’s not a sought after player regarding transfers but what that has got to do with the price of fish I dunno, fact is he’s looking good this season.
our problem, or one of them as far as I see it is that we have very similar players in sylla, kea and even westwood on his day, like I said every team needs one or even two but not four, we get in a creative holding CM and it will help so much.
id rather have delph giving 100% every game than steven Ireland contributing one outstanding pass about every 3 games.

I think there are a few players at Villa that would interest the top clubs. Obviously CB and Guzan. Delph is now really playing well, Weimann was linked to Inter and Liverpool in the summer…just lost his form this season. Lowton was linked with Arsenal at the end of last season. We now have Bacuna who is really playing well in the same position. Its not all doom and gloom!

I think Weimann will be a great player. However i want to see him playing down the middle (his best position) alongside Benteke not out wide.
