Any sale was always likely to be done out of sight, but things do aeem to be moving on. My major worry with the stupid and immoral increase in TV money is that we are purely aeen as a cash cow, but are we heffer or are we freisan????

haha are you from a farming background, i don’t quite get the heifer or fresian reference, as technically they are not mutually exclusive, there are Friesian heifers (heifer being a maiden female cow, Cow having had a calf already, friesian being a breed of cattle)

Interesting that his house is included in the sale. Does that point to an overseas (American?) rather than British consortium?

good thinking .. that would suggest a foreign owner, or at least one outside Birmingham, but that doesn’t really narrow it down i suppose, I don’t think anyone expected a local new owner. The other side of that, is that it may be reason enough that Lerner 1) doesn’t use it, will not use it once he sells no matter who he sells to, 3) another asset to throw into the mix for the purpose of sale.

        billionaires eh?

Great news Vlaar is back……, can’t wait to see him give away a penalty for a rash challenge in the last few minutes as he chases back and hacks someone down due to his cart horse speed….. The man is as fast as a sloth and always has a mistake in him…. Show him the door please Mr Sherwood !

ah bit harsh! .. he is guilty of all those things, but I think he has had as many good games as bad in a Villa shirt, I can think 4/5 vital last ditch tackles/ blocks or interceptions that prevented serious goal scoring opportunities.
Lets not forget the Vlaar we saw in the world Cup, it is the same Vlaar after all.

but I will concede that he hasn’t been the world beater we hoped for or needed. and he does have the serious clanger in him every 10/15 games or so .. If we are sold and things have a positive spin, I would not mind him staying at all. but for the reasons you highlighted and his fair but not stellar record for villa ( in my eyes) I wouldn’t weep if he moved on

Seems Senderos, Vlaar, Cole and Cleverley have returned to training ahead of the United game. So at least Clark has a recognized CB partner. This is definitely a game a makeshift CB won’t work, as their attack bar Rooney is incredibly dodgy so to keep him out we need 2 fit CB’s.

Cleverley cannot play as a Utd loanee. Any news on the full backs? Vlaar and Clark would be a fair CB pairing but they will need good full backs on both sides.

Lets hope United have no injuries to their rear-guard. If Jones and Smalling play the same way they played against Italy we have some hope of scoring. Any replacement has to be better.

Smalling is in serious doubt for the game, who in fairness has been their best CB by some way this season with Rojo, which is a big plus for us.

Just copied and pasted the names but yeah, Cleverley can’t play.
Sherwood didn’t say anything about fullbacks, just those 4.

Bent’s reportedly also in contract talks to extend at Villa. Which is absolutely fascinating.

Its OK Giddy if it was yesterday it got to be April fool mate, who and what would make Villa give high wage for lack of effort from a player of his supposed talent.

Would be happy to see Bent back in a Villa shirt – you don’t score 100 goals in the PL by being useless. Provide the right service and he’ll get us 15 goals – how we could have done with that this season. More one hears, the more one wonders what RL was doing in keeping Lambert. Fox was probably on a mission to get him out from about day 3 🙂

I’d love Bent, especially because Sherwood likes wingers, which is what Bent absolutely thrives on.

Off topic but growing speculation that Chris Ramsey will leave QPR and reunite with TS. Ramsey, like Mac, good coach but not a manager

Gotta wonder where that would leave MacDonald. Although always figured he was solely a stand in assistant for the rest of the season to get the players motivated.

Ramsey’s not going to be a manager. He’s a coach, at best.
Did you also not say before we got Sherwood that he’d be an awful choice as QPR picked his assistant? Or am I thinking of someone else? I don’t think so but I could be. 😉

Sherwood is the best of a bad bunch I still stand by that. He will keep us up but medium to long term he won’t do much better than lamberk trust me. When I said lamberk was no better than mclown I was slated but as normal I was proved right

What has happened to the positive ‘give it a go’ OohAh? OK so TS is not tried and tested but neither was the chosen one when he took over at Porto! Chris Ramsey – good No 2 and KMac starts working with the reserves again – not a bad set up when u compare it with Lambert – I do everything myself!
