Another Rumour?

imageI have been searching for anything related to the current sale of our club.
I have found this in the telegraph
Micky’s game on for Aston Villa takeover deal
Micky Arison, the chairman of cruise ship operator Carnival Corporation, is back in the game for his rumoured takeover of Aston Villa FC.
Just weeks after The Lions’ current owner, Randy Lerner, confirmed he has hired Merrill Lynch to advise on the club’s sale, Arison, who already owns the Miami Heat basketball team, has swelled his war-chest for potential sporting acquisitions by selling almost £6m of Carnival shares.
This week’s transactions are the latest in a string of six share disposals since March, taking Arison’s total new disposable income to around £36m – or a healthy advance towards the £200m that he and Larry Ellison, the Oracle software tycoon, are reportedly considering paying for the Premier League team.
Like Aston Villa, which narrowly avoided relegation last season, Arison has everything to play for.
But will Keith “Mr Football” Harris, the investment banking fixer advising Lerner on the club’s new owner, believe the tycoon who was at the helm at the time of his company’s Costa Concordia tragedy is the right man to captain the ship?
There has been a lot of rumours floating around lately concerning AVFC and the sale of the club. Most of them are probably guess work and journo’s putting 2+2 together as they do.
I wonder if there is any truth to this only time will tell…..UTV

I’ve heard Chicago Fire owners-Andell Holdings(Andrew/Ellen Hauptman) mentioned as potential AV buyers so a Karren Brady-type would end up being involved with AV if that happened. I’ve also heard David Unsworth-Everton U21 coach could be joining the AV set-up.

So have I got this right?
He’s got person fortune of around £6.4b but only £36m as a down payment on any potential sale for somewhere between £200m and £150m?
So that means if he does buy AVFC he’s gonna do a Glazer brothers Man U type deal and mortgage the club putting us into untold debt?
    That right?
And then consider the fact we have nowhere near the turn over of Man U to service this here debt?
Well Randy that’s another fine mess you’ve gotten us into.

Billy, it just means he’s liquidating assets, which makes sense if the share price is at a high.
I’m not sure if interest rates are as low in the US as they are here, but if so, it certainly suggests he’s looking to invest in something.

You never know, he might have another couple of hundred million in the bank already.

Whatever, I really wouldn’t read much into it.

And I’ll bet that the eventual buyer will be someone who isn’t even remotely near the radar.

In fariness, it could be a lot worse. got a Gooner mate who tells me that when he on his game he’s fantastic (regardless of pace) but the problem is his consistency. Let’s hope he’s improved that with age.

My mate a gooner fan said similar but said for every few good things he does it’s outweighed by his bad points. Switches of at vital moments, no pace and incredibly error prone like all our centre halves. Totally pointless signing

For all intensive purposes it looked liked, after bringing wages in order, he was going to spend again. But all he’s had for the past 6 months is torrents of abuse. Harsh when he’s put so much of his own money in now looks to make a loss. Everton have Bern up for sale for almost 3 years now. They’re ate no buyers. The club’s dying. Should gave given him the chance to spend. But alas, no, the impatient villa fans and their sense of entitlement trumps reality and any chance of a future. You may as well choose your next club, because we’re not going to exist soon. No buyers = drift to obscurity.

Also Bum Bum, you are reponsable too. Yes he made his mistakes, but you’ve left him with no choice to try and sell when there is no buyers. Thus leaving us in this state of limbo for years until we inevitably go bust and City become nu1 in Birmingham. Well done. Hope you’re proud.

haha oohahh, what owner of a club deliberately sabotages his own club! while with the goal of being vilified and lose millions of pounds!

if he had made any money out of this maybe you could accuse him of that, but lol he just made mistakes, let get over ourselves, he tried he failed, he is not vindictive, he is not trying to con you into a season ticket, He was trying to make villa successful, he failed,
now he is looking to sell it.

i would need to see a better argument for malice on his part than anything I have read yet.

It maybe up for sale but he is in no rush to sell it. If he keeps us for another season and we stay up with spending peanuts he will still pocket £90 odd million not bad. He will only sell quickly if someone makes a ridiculous offer which is highly unlikely. Everton have been up for sale for years. I rest my case

      1. DSVilla
        DSVilla June 7, 2014 at 9:34 pm . Reply

You rest your case? It’s a pretty poor case. Lerner pocket £90M….I somehow doubt that, and you are assuming we will stay up having spent next to nothing which is not the impression you usually give of our prospects. As for your statement that we are not really up for sale this just beggars belief really.

Lerner will have a tough job selling at anything like what he needs to to claw back some of his losses. It doesn’t look like there are many buyers out there interested in the club, so maybe not many people see owning a Premiership club as a passport to untold riches. That so many fans on here have accused Lerner of milking the club of cash over the years just shows how out of touch with reality they are.

Lerner has messed up big time, and I bet he regrets ever having bought the club. If its possible to make £90M a year Oohah I would think £200M is damn cheap.

No they wouldn’t because it’s clear no one want a premier league club anymore. Why but something no one wants, you can’t make any money from and will just be subject to thousands of abusive fans berating you everyday because of their unrealistic expectations. People like you ate responsable for this. Lerner made mistakes, but if we’d have let him try to finish fixing them we’d actually be a much better prospect.
